The Hague, in brief

“There is no club to find in The Hague. There's a calendar, and an address that only arrives once you've reserved.”
The Hague is the Netherlands' seat of government, an affluent, internationally-staffed city of diplomats and civil servants. Its lifestyle scene reflects that: discreet, organised, low-drama, and almost invisible from the street. The reason isn't prudishness. Swinging is legal everywhere in the Netherlands. The wrinkle is purely local — the municipality defines a licensed "seksbedrijf" narrowly around paid sexual services and froze the number of such permits as of 1 October 1999, issuing none for new venues. A swingers' party charges a door fee, not a per-act fee, so it sits outside that regime — which is exactly why the city has no permanently-licensed parenclub building and the scene runs as reservation-only events instead.
The roving-party model
The city's own scene is essentially one operator: Swing Fun 4 You, active since 2010 (formerly Colorotica). They run two themed nights a month — the third and last Saturday — at hired private locations the company describes as "leuke, vaak luxe locaties met vele faciliteiten". The address goes only to confirmed guests on reservation. Their own framing is the opposite of intimidating: parties built to be "laagdrempelig, intiem, toegankelijk en gemoedelijk" — low-threshold, intimate, accessible, convivial — and they say plainly that bringing newcomers in is good for everyone. Entry starts from about €20, with snacks, towels and condoms included.
The defining feature is the calendar, because each themed night sets its own door — and single-male access swings hard depending on which one is on.
| Night | What it is | Who gets in | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sextravaganza | Open, kink-friendly party | Couples, single women, single men, T-girls | The most permissive door; the night for unaccompanied men |
| Birotica | Bi-curious-themed | Couples, women, single men | The other single-male-friendly night |
| Colorotica / Tease to Please | Small, women-friendly, multi-ethnic | Couples and single women only | No single men |
| Fetish Play Party | Fetish / dress-code night | Couples and single women only | No single men; check the dress code before booking |
The smart move in The Hague isn't picking a venue — it's reading the party. Book the wrong themed night as a single man and you simply won't get in.
The drive-to flagship
For a permanent, full club — restaurant, sauna, overnight cottage — Hagenaars drive roughly 30 km / 25–35 minutes south-east to Fun4Two in Moordrecht (municipality of Zuidplas), a converted 1851 polder farmhouse open since 1996 and described by Dutch directories as the only true parenclub in all of Zuid-Holland. It's couples-and-single-women by default; unaccompanied men get in only on the capped "Hardcore Night vs Gigolina's" (4–5 times a year, 75 advance tickets that sell out). The all-inclusive door runs roughly €109–179 per couple by night. Note it sits in a different municipality, so its sex-business permit is Zuidplas's, not The Hague's — another reason the flagship lives outside the city.
The wider ENM and polyamory crowd, by contrast, gathers right in the centre: the recurring, English-language International Polyborrel Den Haag meets at Brouwerij De Prael on Esperantoplein. It's an open social mixer, not a play night — a softer on-ramp for the poly-curious.
Myth: An address listed on a directory as a "swinger club" in The Hague is where the parties happen. Reality: The Hague's licensed paid-sex venues (privéhuizen such as Lovehotel Bananas at Weteringkade 113) are a completely different category of business and unrelated to the lifestyle parties. Aggregator sites sometimes conflate them. The actual Swing Fun 4 You location is private and shared only on reservation — discretion is built into the model, not added on.

Etiquette & law
- Legal age is 18+; bring government photo ID.
- Legal status: Legal. Clubs operate as private, members-only venues.
- Consent is explicit and ongoing. Always ask; no means no.
- Photography is prohibited inside almost every venue.
- Swinging between consenting adults is legal throughout the Netherlands. The local nuance in The Hague is in the city's commercial-sex licensing. Den Haag defines a 'seksbedrijf' (sex business) narrowly around prostitution and paid sexual services - prostitution clubs, escort, erotic massage, sex cinemas - and requires those to hold a one-year 'exploitatievergunning seksbedrijf'; crucially, the municipality fixed the number of such sex establishments per location as of 1 October 1999 and will NOT issue permits for newly-created ones (only takeover of an existing licence is possible), and it grants no window-prostitution permits and designates no prostitution zones. The 21-year minimum and Chamber-of-Commerce/Bibob requirements in that regime apply to prostitution/sex workers, not to swingers. A swingers' party where guests pay an entrance fee rather than per sexual act sits outside that narrow paid-sex definition, which is a large part of why The Hague has no permanently-licensed parenclub building and the local operator (Swing Fun 4 You) runs members-style, reservation-only events at hired locations instead. The minimum age at lifestyle venues is 18 (the Dutch age of majority) and venues/locations may serve alcohol. Note the region's drive-to flagship, Fun4Two, lies in the municipality of Zuidplas (Moordrecht), not The Hague, so its sex-business permit sits with that municipality.
