Seville, in brief

“Hay mucho respeto y mucho vicio tambien - regulars' shorthand for the Seville rooms: heavy on courtesy, heavy on appetite, and not much in between.”
Seville does the lifestyle the way Seville does most things: warm, unhurried, and not where the tourists are looking. The historic centre - the cathedral, the tapas crawl, the Feria - keeps none of it. The scene lives out on the metro belt, across the river on the Aljarafe high ground and down by the shopping centres, in venues you reach by car. That single geographic fact shapes everything else: planning your route and your ride home matters more here than your outfit.
The shape of the scene
There is no single flagship club. Instead there's a spread of formats, each in its own town, and most regulars pick by what they want the night to be rather than by brand loyalty. A pool night is a different trip from a many-roomed club night, which is different again from a pub night or a ticketed themed party.
| Venue (town) | What it is | Who goes | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sevilla Liberal (Valencina) | Semi-rural club, summer naturist pool, dark rooms | Couples destination crowd | Single men barred on Saturdays; own parking; full price grid published |
| Papua (Dos Hermanas) | about 700 m2 in the La Motilla centre, jacuzzi terraces, indoor mini-pool | Couples + singles, presents as trans-friendly | Separate street doors for couples and single men; most transit/hotel-adjacent |
| Imperio Liberal (Bormujos) | Reported 600 m2, 16 rooms, two dark rooms, VIP room | Big-club, full-amenity crowd | Couples reportedly 15 EUR before midnight; free parking |
| 23 Swinger (Castilleja de la Cuesta) | Pub-style liberal club, themed nights | The single-male-accessible, low-key end | Named after its address, Virgen de Loreto 23 |
| Gotham (La Rinconada) | Event-led, themed Saturday parties | Couples, party-night crowd | No fixed door - tickets via SumUp links on Instagram; verify it's running |
Prices are low for Europe. Couples land roughly 15-50 EUR with drinks, single women commonly 10 EUR or free, single men about 30-45 EUR. Paid annual membership is uncommon; several houses are constituted as asociaciones liberales that simply register you on site.
A Spanish overview of the Seville clubs frames the appeal plainly: somewhere couples can "liberar tensiones" in a setting built on "discrecion" - discretion first, spectacle second. It is a scene that rewards manners. The most-quoted line about the Seville rooms - hay mucho respeto y mucho vicio tambien - is the whole register in six words: heavy on courtesy, heavy on appetite.
Beyond the clubs
If swinging is the loud part, the quiet part is ENM. GNoMoS (Grupo de No Monogamias de Sevilla) runs the non-club side - social gnomoquedadas, a film forum on non-normative relationships, relationship-skills workshops - under the banner "amor etico, libre y responsable." Different door, same city, no overlap required.
Myth: Seville has a downtown swingers district you can stumble into after tapas. Reality: The scene is almost entirely in the metropolitan belt - Bormujos, Castilleja, Camas, Valencina, Dos Hermanas, La Rinconada - and most of it needs a car or a taxi. The old city keeps the cathedral; the Aljarafe keeps the clubs.
Two practical things stay true year-round. First, summer is brutal - July and August push into the 40s C and many locals leave, thinning midweek crowds, though Sevilla Liberal's outdoor pool is specifically a hot-season draw. Spring and early autumn are the comfortable windows (mind that the Feria de Abril and Semana Santa spike hotel prices). Second, because a few venues live mainly on Facebook and Instagram, confirm a club is actually open before you drive out to an industrial unit on the edge of town.

Etiquette & law
- Legal age is 18+; bring government photo ID.
- Legal status: Legal. Clubs operate as private, members-only venues.
- Consent is explicit and ongoing. Always ask; no means no.
- Photography is prohibited inside almost every venue.
- Swinger / club liberal activity between consenting adults is legal across Spain, including Andalusia. Spanish law does not criminalise prostitution or sex between consenting adults itself; what the Codigo Penal punishes is third-party exploitation - Article 187 penalises profiting from or exploiting another person's prostitution (even with their consent, where there is dependence or abuse of vulnerability), Article 188 covers involving minors, and Article 189 covers child sexual material. Swinger clubs are lawful because clients pay only an entry or membership fee and have sex solely with other clients, not with sex workers, so no proxenetismo (procuring) arises. The minimum age is 18 and venues are licensed to serve alcohol. There is no national swinger-club statute - clubs operate under ordinary hospitality and municipal licensing (several Seville-area venues are constituted as 'liberal associations' with on-site registration), and exact single-male and zone rules are set by each house and town.
